Ingredients
Wet Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas, mashed
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
Optional Add-ins:
½ cup chocolate chunks or chips
½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8-inch pan or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk melted butter with brown and white sugar until smooth.
Add eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gently fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in chocolate chunks and nuts if using.
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center has moist crumbs.
Let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For vegan version: replace eggs with 2 flax eggs, and use dairy-free butter/chocolate.
For extra gooey brownies, remove from oven when the center still jiggles slightly.
Great with ice cream or as frozen pops dipped in chocolate.
